Self-protection and aggression; teeth become primal symbols of defence and vulnerability. In canine studies I explore the non-dichotomous space between aggression and fragility and question how we armour ourselves emotionally and physically. In this series, teeth are metaphors for how we connect, wound, defend, and express. These monochromatic paintings highlight the relationship between language and protection. They ask to see communication not merely as words, but as something born in bone.
